Circus of Books is one of my favorite places to rent DVD’s. And I’m not talking about netflix DVD’s here. I’m talking about Adult grade XXX variety. The bookstore has a couple of good coffee table books, gay books, and a wide selection of magazines.

The magic really happens when you go through the adult doors. Membership is free and so far I have not seen any limitations on the number of DVD’s you can rent at once! Mondays and tuesdays are packed since the movie rentals are discounted on those days. Circus of Books has a somewhat extensive selection of new titles but where they excel is in the not so new section. They have hundreds of DVD’s available. After the 11th or 12th DVD you get one free. Needless to say I’ve already amassed a couple of those!

They have a Silver Lake branch but the one in West Hollywood is at 8230 Santa Monica Boulevard. There is a nice and convenient parking lot across the street behind the Gold Rush Bar that people use to park. It is also known as Vaseline Alley because the guys go there to hookup with each other and solicit the services of escorts!
